Newton Abbot Ladies’ small squad, despite missing several key players, defeated Newquay by 4 goals to 2 to win the Devon Ladies Cup for the 5th successive year.

| Stand-in goalie Katie Trist produced some good saves, and goals from the experienced Lynn Shears and Sue Langston in the first quarter ensured a good 2-0 lead for Newton. Newquay scored a goal in each of the 2nd and 3rd quarters, but staunch defending from Newton Abbot restricted their scoring chances. Amber James and Annie Tindsley each scored good goals in Q3, bringing the score to 4-2, which it remained at for the final quarter, neither team able to break through some good defence play. |
