EAST DEVON MINI LEAGUE
Round 3
6th October 2007
Newton Abbot Swimming Club won the Exeter and East Devon Mini League, with a good win in the final gala of the series, consolidating their healthy lead brought forward from the first 2 rounds. 

Final gala points :- Newton Abbot 211, Exmouth 161, Dawlish 151, Torquay 143, with Paignton being unable to send a team to this round of the competition. 

Newton’s team enjoyed some good results across the board and young Archie Hailstone, Emily Palmer and Milly Price made their first gala appearances for the Club. 

There were individual wins for Sam Booth (boys 9u 50m Back - PB), Charlotte Wright (9u 50m Bst),  Sophie Jenkins (13u 50m Back (PB), Free & Fly), Anya Bishop (9u 25m Fly), Abi Carne (11u 50m Back), Jamie Bishop (11u 50m Fly), Emma Garrett (15u 50m Back & Free), Nicole Wickens (11u 50m Fly - PB), Guy Bennett (11u 50m Fly), Catherine Bellamy (15u 50m Fly), Lara Cosford (11u 50m Free), Sophie Irons (13u 50m Breast). 

The following swimmers also recorded 1 or more Personal Best times: - Emily Palmer, Eric Perkin, Jack Beer, Ryan Rogers, Catherine Bellamy, Tom McLeman, Anya Bishop,

There were race winning performances from several of Newton’s relay teams, across all the age groups, including a good win for the Cannon A team of Anya Bishop, Eric Perkins, Lara Cosford, Tom Normington, Sophie Jenkins, Jack Beer, Emma Garrett and Tom Mcleman.  

The 9u girls: Beverley Cock, Emily Palmer, Milly Price and Anya Bishop won the 4 x 25m freestyle relay, and the 9u boys went one better, with Sam Booth, Oliver Palmer, Eric Perkins and Archie Hailstone winning both the Free and Medley events. 

The 11 year old girls (team from Laura Beth Morrison, Abi Carne, Nicole Wickens, Charlotte Wright, Lara Cosford) and boys (team from Jamie Bishop, Sebastian van Burleigh, Guy Bennett, Tom Normington, Peter Cock) also won both their relays. 

There was also a double win for the 13u girls (Chloe Kemp, Rachel Cooper, Sophie Jenkins, Sophie Irons) and the boys (Jack Beer, Niall Grant, Ryan Rogers, Lewis Hailstone) came first in the Medley Relay. 

In the oldest (15u) age group, the girls (Emma Garrett, Hannah Barr, Hannah Taylor, Catherine Bellamy) again won both the Medley and Free Relays.
