| NATIONAL AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIPS AT PONDS FORGE, SHEFFIELD |

| Jess Twose aged 12, of Newton Abbot Swimming Club, recently competed in the National Age Group Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield; Twose qualifed for both the 100m and 200m Backstroke events. She came 16th in the 200m Backstroke, out of 31 qualifiers for the event, and was just 1 second outside the qualifying time for the 10 lane final. |

In her favoured 100m Backstroke, Twose swam a tremendous heat, qualifying for the final in 4th place, in a time of 1m 10 seconds. The final proved to be a very close race; Twose started fantastically and took
the lead from the start, at the 50M point she turned first in 33.06 and held
the lead till about the 70M point, finishing in 5th Place, recording a further Personal Best time of 69.38. |

After the swim, Jess was complimented by 2 international Coaches ... "as a
very fast swimmer with a tremendous amount of raw talent, who will
undoubtedly feature strongly next year". |

| She has also been selected for the West of England Training Camps at Bath
University. |
